Grid

An underlying system of columns, gutters, and margins that elements align to, turning individual layout decisions into a repeatable structure.

Example usage
The cards snap to a 12-column grid, so every breakpoint resolves without ad-hoc decisions.
Editor’s note

A grid is most visible when it’s broken — which is also its main expressive tool. Establish it strictly, then break it deliberately for emphasis. Layouts that almost align read as sloppier than layouts that never tried.
